Mt. Ararat High School opened its doors in 1973, serving the towns
of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham. Today the school has an
enrollment of approximately 950 students in grades 9 -12. Accredited by
the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Mt. Ararat serves
the seventh largest school district in the State of Maine and is the
second largest district geographically. Mt. Ararat gets its name from
the hill that is situated behind it, which has a fire tower and a cell
tower at its crest. The school address of 73 Eagles Way is named for its
inaugural year.
